How our statistics are calculated

A student subject means that students studying multiple subjects are counted multiple times. For example, if we have 3 students, where one of them is studying 2 subjects, then that would be 4 student subjects. Student subjects do not include our exam revision courses, UCAT or medicine interview course.

Recorded ATARs and subject scores are not accounting for maths and sciences bonus points.

Average tutor rating and average course rating are calculated per student, and not per year. For example, if we have 3 ratings in 2020 of 5 and 2 ratings in 2021 of 4/5, we calculate the average using (5+5+5+4+4)/5.

Top preference refers to the course which the student ranked first in their SATAC application. We do not count interstate applications in this statistic.

The statistics for the current year are based on the responses we have received so far from our graduating students, and will continue to be updated.

The tuition received from Matt was of extreme high quality and in comparison to previous grades from past years, the grades after I received tuition increased.

Kevin clearly explains content making it easy to understand. He has helped me become more disciplined in my study practices in that I should be answering practice questions each week.

My tutor provides sufficient practice questions and practise tests. He explains different way of doing questions when I'm confused and welcomes me to ask any questions I have.

Was a very informative and supportive tutor. I found the process of teaching to be extremely helpful, instilling useful techniques which could be applied throughout my studies. Additionally, the notes provided were summarised and understandable and served as a reference point during times of misunderstanding. I found that Matt was also extremely supportive and compassionate, spending extra time to speak about things related to other subjects, and generally wanting the best for his students.

Matt was very knowledgeable about the subjects and made comprehending the course information easy.

Vincent is a quality tutor and in my opinion one of the best. He is easy to understand, very professional. Although he teaches me maths, he has been able to answer my questions in a wide range of other subjects. Grade A tutor overall!

Lessons with Vincent have been beneficial throughout my senior year. He was always willing to help out and ensure that my work and understanding of the course is up to standard. I’ve had several tutors throughout my academic life and Vincent has been one of the best. i had Vincent tutor me in stage 2 chemistry and he helped me to gain the grades that i wanted. he was both insightful and thorough in lessons and provided relevant worksheets that allowed me to advance my knowledge. he put in a lot of effort both in and out of lessons to ensure that i was prepared for future tests and assignments

Matthew was really good at providing detailed responses to all of my questions. He also provided loads of great and useful sources to practice with before tests and exams.

I had gone through several tutors for my medicine interview prep with little to no progress, and Matt was by far the best. He was very patient and thorough, and well prepared with scenarios to practice through each session. Matt structured each session well, explaining concepts in an easily digestible manner so I was able to build my understanding of the interview and develop and hone my skills. This greatly increased my confidence in answering the questions, and thanks to him I now have an offer in medicine!

Before tutoring with Vincent, I had set myself goals for biology as it was a subject I had really struggled with. During the school year and tutoring with Vincent, he has helped me not only enjoy the subject but helped me achieve higher grades than my goals had anticipated

During my time in year 12, Matt really helped me getting through Year 12 methods where I was really struggling to understand concepts at school. Matt would choose ways that made me understand the concept alot easier. I had Matt for a few session on Chemistry as well and believed that he was able to clearly and effectively explain the concepts and guide me through any questions and confusion I had.

Vincent has tutored me through year 12 for the subjects biology and chemistry. He has been so helpful and really pushed me to receive the marks i wanted. Vincent provides various learning resources such as PowerPoints, worksheets and his own handwritten notes and is always super organised - very professional!! Not only has Vincent tutored me, he has been such an amazing friend by always supporting and encouraging me to do my best. I highly recommend Vincent to any student!!!!

Matthew is a brilliant tutor and has vastly improved my understanding in Mathematical Methods. His method of teaching is more fast-paced yet very easy to pick up for a student. I would recommend Matthew for anyone looking to excel and rebuild their confidence in mathematics.

Extremely happy with my tutoring

Elyssa was good at conveying her method of figuring out questions and she was able to quickly run through a large chunk of a topic that I might be struggling on. She could possible try to look at other methods of figuring out a question in case a student doesnt understand her original method, but her method usually was what I needed.

Kevin was a great tutor. He explained things in Chemistry in a digestible way and overall is very knowledgable.

Joshua was very smart and good at making hard questions. Has a deep understanding of the medicine interview.

Classes were fun and we for the most part pushed through content well. Lessons felt like a breath of air amidst a very stressful year which made it easier to learn. This isn't about Gooi specifically but having tutors close to our age was really nice in comparison to having people who are older cause you guys were relatable and made us feel comfortable in classes. It was "study group with friends" sort of vibe.

The weekly lessons with Sarah really improved my understanding of the subject and definitely helped me to succeed in achieving great marks. Sarah was so friendly and easy to approach which made me feel comfortable in asking questions to which I received very helpful replies.

Samantha basically saved my entire English external essay 😅 Even though I only had one lesson with her, she helped me so much in improving my essay to an A+ standard. She was very knowledgeable in the area and explained her critique of my work well so I was able to understand ways in which my text was lacking. Her feedback was a lot better and detailed than my teachers.

Matt was also very active in helping me throughout all my subjects which definitely improved my knowledge and made me feel a lot more confident in my school work. The additional resources provided by Matt were very useful.

Matt is a very patient and understanding tutor who tries to get to know the students which allow for him to provide a more targeted based learning. In my case, I'm not usually very confident in my answers so I tend to shy away from answering even if it's correct or I always end up second guessing my answers and end up writing the wrong answer. But Matt helped me gain more confidence in my answers and understanding which in the long run was very helpful during year 13 :)) He also helped in targeting my weaknesses and also helped in refining my answering methods during exams and test which was very beneficial to successfully completing the subject. Thanks Matt for teaching me again this year!!

Tristan is a very approachable tutor who is able to explain concepts well but sometimes your big brain kinda went too fast and you'd jump to an answer that I didn't understand but because you are very approachable it was easy to question and ask for help!! Thanks Tristan for tutoring me :))

Although everything was very good there were times where Justin would explain stuff in a very complex way that was kinda hard to understand on the first time around. But eventually we got there. Thanks for tutoring me Justin :))

I loved Sarah’s style of teaching and how she was so patience to answering any question you had. She explained new and old concepts very well and was very dedicated to helping us out.

Gooi’s great at developing problem solving skills, and it helped me whenever I was answering chemistry questions that I was stuck on. He way very patient when explaining and very thorough, he was a great help throughout the year.

Samantha was amazing throughout the year. She really sat down and took the time to thoroughly go through all my work with her to make sure everything was perfect, and it really paid off!

I learned so much from Matt regarding the interview process. He was very thorough with the preparation and I felt more confident in my preparation after my lessons.

Throughout the preparation Kevin provided critical feedback but also postives which was very encouraging and helped me build on my responses.

Kevin made chemistry very easy for me to understand! He used his ipad to draw out diagrams and explained everything in a manner that was very easy to understand. Kevin has a very friendly personality which meant that i could easily approach him and ask him anything i had concerns about.

I LOVED HIS DIAGRAMS!! and the easy he explained everything related to biology! Like for some reason Matt's explanation just stuck with me and helped me many times when i was confused with the topic.

Jono, Tristan and Matt are exceptional tutors with very sound knowledge! There's no criticism for the tutors, however for methods I would like to have a smaller class like Chem (which only had 2 other people). This would increase the productivity of the entire class.

Matt teaches in an immensely clear and detailed manner, in efforts of ensuring that all of his students understand the content fully within the given timeframe. Matt repeats the concepts multiple times if needed and uses diagrams to support his teaching. Matt uses subject specific terminology and modifies his teaching method to abide by the unique and varied learning styles of each student. Matt’s in-depth teaching allows students to understand how to score full marks in tests and avoid repeating mistakes. Matt is also an extremely nice tutor who is easy to talk to and very devoted to his work.

Matt knew the Methods course inside out. We covered everything we needed to know, from the fundamentals to advanced and extended content. His teaching methods of clearly communicating key information in booklets and then testing us with 'exam style' questions were extremely effective and easy to follow. As a result, Methods became relatively simple for me. Also, if you ever need advice or to talk about different pathways into your desired course (especially Medicine, Dentistry or Oral Health), Matt is the man!

Gooi was awesome and had lot of fun while learning. Even though sometimes it was hard to read his hand writing hahaha. But we love Gooi💞💞 So it was alright.

Kevin is a fantastic tutor. Kevin has an excellent teaching style and ensured I understood the concept before moving onto the next. He always followed up on how I did with assessment tasks and provided useful feedback and criticism. Kevin is bright, engaging and friendly.

All of my biology lessons with Josh were enjoyable. Josh focuses on getting through theory so more time is able to spent doing practice questions. I found this a useful method as from when I started biology tuition my grades improved. He was very thorough when going through my assignments and provided relevant feedback and criticism. Kevin is a fun, engaging tutor who knows the chem content extremely well. He is very helpful in answering any questions and explains difficult concepts in a simple but effective manner.

Anna was able to go through hard questions I was struggling with in school and in sessions and helped me understand how to work through them effectively. She also explained complex physics concepts in a simple manner to me and persisted in allowing me to understand concepts even if it took a long time

Josh taught the content depth and explained what we need to write in the test. He explained everything in very simple terms and made the content easy to understand.

Justin explained concepts super clearly and provided diagrams and resources that were very helpful for both bio and chem!

Kevin broke down very complex chem concepts into ideas that were much easier to understand!

Of course the first lesson with the tutors was awkward but as we got close I was able to ask questions, talk about life, and tips on year 12 which really made me feel like I was being supported. All of them are sooo nice and cute to the point I did not want to leave tutoring 🙁

Alex was very patient and always happy to help me with any difficult questions I am having. He is always happy to help and frequently checks and offers help to all his students.

It was very easy to understand Justin's teaching. He goes through all the practice test questions with me and suggests various worksheets and practice tests to work on to improve my learning. He also frequently checks if I am doing alright with my work or if I need any assistance.
